Me, Me, Me

Where to bladdy begin.
Me and the boys have been planning a gentlemen club jaunt for quite some time, due to Elliott (or his dad at least) ballsing up his loan application, the first weekend it was realistically possible was the one just gone. It was also my good friend Banny's housewarming round the corner, not to be deterred, I decided to go to both, ON THE SAME NIGHT.

So some of the lads went to see one of the houses play a gig, some came with me to the partay, and we resolved to meet later and do that shit.
The party was really good, complete with hardcore punk band in the basement & p.a in the kitchen!..loads of people from my hometown were there due to Banny and fun was had by all! we bailed out just because the police were called, but all worked out fine with no-one arrested, the bad just had to stop.
I'm lying with the all working out fine bit, the hosts are in trouble with there landlord...
It'll be fine!
And so onto the strip bar! Mmmmm, fun was had by all, we were all milked like proverbial cash cows, but fuck it, it ticks a box.
The next day, the grim hangover resulted in our planned band recording being massively delayed. Bit shout out to producer Shaz for his patience, we only had time to lay down the drums, but the bass has now been done and things are coming together nicely. Can't wait for the guitar parts to be done over the next week or two and then for Shazzy to mix it! Here we all below, me on the drums, Elliott on the left on geetar, Guy on the right on the same & Philly (bassist) taking the photo!

Frankenstein the cat

Is missing presumed dead.
Seems his youth of fighting/fucking caught up with him. God damn it, I'm going to miss that cat.
R.I.P Frank..

Other than hearing that sad news, I've been starting my lit review, watching black sheep, street warrior and role models, enjoying the music of mainly Telegraphs, Bonnie Prince Billy or the shuffle function, visiting my grandparents and looking forward to a couple of upcoming events, namely a gig & a planned night out.

Promotions & Dissertations

Mmm, sat here in silence listening to the rain...

My granddad is on the mend (touchwood), which is great, will be heading home to see him at the weekend, as well as the grandparents dog which is completely, with no exaggeration, insane. Terrified of cats, rabbits, pieces of furniture, paper (not sure about paper), nevertheless she's a lovely animal and always puts a smile on my face.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8299362.stm- This article discusses facebook and how intricately
woven into some peoples lives it has become, the replies from various people around the UK are
particularly interesting I felt, I have friends who I feel would seriously struggle not to log on
for a few days. I log on a lot of the time because I'm avoiding work or killing time, however I'll freely admit
that I would struggle to delete it.

Rest of the day is going to be as follows, dissertation research (I'm going to be completely
changing my question), finishing my popular music culture reading, maybe some fifa? (I got promoted and
have cranked the difficulty up to world class!), Nando's for my good friend Claire Malone's 21st (Happy
Birthday!) and then maybe vodbull at Oceana for the aforementioned birthday.

Lets have it.

P.S- I just spent 20 minutes watching Miley Cyrus videos, what is wrong with me!!
...She is so fit though.
Is Emma Stone fitter?

I'd settle for either, you know, I'm just easy going like that...

Sunday Afternoons

Its sunday afternoon and I'm sat here listening to some american online radio station doing my d.s, and I have not posted in a while so here I am. I have nothing really interesting to say but I'm going to say some things anyway.

First and the biggie is my granddad goes into hospital tomorrow for an operation, the general aesthetic in a big deal for a man of his age (76) so fingers crossed for him, it could improve his quality of life if it goes well and that would be great. He is one of the best people I've ever known and I want him to be around for a long long time to come.

Had a couple of big nights out this week, which were fun. But. I seem to have becoming a massive lightweight recently, which I suspect stems from a combination of me eating less and going out very little for a long while over the summer. But yeah, led me be saying something that in my drunken state which would have better I didn't. Moral mind-field that it was, I definitely had my eyes opened to a different way of going about life. I really do respect people who do things their own way, even if its very different to the way I do.

Fifa is going nicely, thanks for asking.

FIFA, FIFA, FIFA

Is fucking mint! As a pro evo man my whole game playing life, its not easy for me to admit it, but fifa now shits all over pro evo from a great height, and I think its the only game I'll need for quite a while. I love the intuitive movements and licensed everything, even the defensive A.I, which although frustrating, makes scoring in the end more satisfying. (P.S- I can't get the underlining off for some very annoying reason...)
My arena player is this fella >>>
If you don't know who he is, his name is Diego, and he now plays for Juventus in Italy, and not Werder Bremen from Germany as in the photo. Reason being, on one of my many epic championship/football manager careers over the years, I signed him for Fiorentina in Italy from Santo's in Brazil and for like five seasons in a row he scored like 15 from midfield, pretty rad I know...

If you're interested I plan for my dissertation to be about Susan Boyle, partly because I had to come up with something, and partly because as stories go, hers is pretty interesting. I'm coming at it from the concept of different types of newspaper, and will be analyzing the Sun, Britain's biggest selling tabloid, and the telegraph, (likewise but broadsheet) articles over a yet to be determined period to see the differences in their selection of what to cover in terms of her story as it played out! Need to sit down with my good friend Phil and discuss our production project, which could be really cool, roughly its gonna be a student magazine for Birmingham's students, complete with online presence and podcasts.

I was at home yesterday for a belated birthday meal for my sisters 18th with one side of the family, kind of lame, but It was alright, its cool to see the family occasionally...I guess.

I'll finish with a thumbs up from the lady herself, alrightt.

Nearly dying, O Hello third year.

Where to fucking begin...
The trip to Liverpool turned into a massive letdown on my part with me contracting flu of some kind and being forced to come back on the sat by myself freaking out some squares on the Liverpool- Birmingham train with my shaking/sweating, mmmmm, drink that image in!
Did manage to get through the friday at least, just gutted that I couldn't last the weekend and enjoy myself with a load of lads who I don't see that often, shiiiiiiiiit.
This flu decided to hang around with a vengeance, and with me starting third year uni timetable on the monday, timing was as per usual impeccable.
I did make it in, I do feel sorry for my poor T.V class (the state I was in was not pretty), This story continued until yest, where I think my appearance and certainly how I feel, returned to something approaching normal.
Most of our house has been ill, if you had one of those lights that shows up viruses and shit in the air, it be like our house had chronic fog or something, nice.
Although, I did have another 20 inch pizza, which deffo made me feel better for a while, heres one we ate earlier...

Now I better get on with some Uni work, lecturers have been kindly telling us how we are entering the hardest year of our academic lives...and without working like an arsehole all year, failure at life will ensue. Sweet!

"IM THE MOST DRUNK I'VE EVER BEEN"

...I wasn't, but It was definitely up there, freshers at Risa smashed it! Monday night Hawaiian party at the something ballroom was also sweet. Definitely the best freshers I've ever had. They are going to be the only two events I go to this year because I'm off to Liverpool tomorrow. Not sure if its their freshers as well? A good friend of mine is 21, and a load of the boys from Nuneaton, and me are off up to scouse land to celebrate it, hard. We know people who go to uni up there meaning free accommodation also. Looking forward to it.

Enrolled for my third year at uni today, third and final year. Gutting in a lot of ways, but also an achievement. Got me reminiscing about the whole experience up to now, and all in all its been fucking great, full of drama, but such is life, I wouldn't change a thing.

Still waiting for the pizza picture! So I'll end this with this (very old) picture of me with Emps and Crofty, two of the lads I'll be having it large with in Liverpool!

...

500 days of summer really did live upto the hype.

...Lets hope Chris Browns album does also.

...Killing Time

Waiting for 500 days of summer to buffer. Been hyped up by my friends massively so its going to have to be pretty fucking good for me to be impressed.

Freshers!..Not really aimed at me being a third year now, but I'm massively tempted to go to a couple of events. Looking forward to going to Liverpool at the weekend for Millsy's 21st, lets have it! All in all, a lot to look forward to, either in excitement, or fear.

I bought an xbox 360! Killed my overdraft, but I'm already sure it was worth it, I have 150 gamer points ish, got a way to go to my mates 22,500, but give me a year or two and we'll see who's boss! (Its him, by a mile).

I'm listening to that Ken doll again, o dear.

Gaming

...About to go into my third, crucial year at university and its now that I rediscover my love of gaming. Goodbye degree, I could say goodbye prospects, but I am doing a Media degree...

Next gen, next gen, next gen...
I cant even play my ps2 anymore, I crave better graphics, more detailed gaming worlds, triggers instead of R2 and L2.

My dreams are still fucking wierd, and talking about fucking, one of said wierd dreams was interrupted by just that.
20 inch pizzas are rad, we had one, we took a photo, when my housie gets it on the web I'll put it up, for me to look at everytime I post again. Satisfying.

Mmmm, I've not mentioned music at all yet since I started this shiiiiiiiiat. All about The King Blues at the minute, and I don't care that they're on a major label now. Fairplay, sell out to the world fellas, hell sell out to the universe!
I think I've got over my problem with one of the beats for the house band, which is nice...Now if only I can break into the Morecombe first team on fifa and lead Tottenham to premiership glory (thats right I got a big promotion)...
My life will be complete.

Psyche and Illusion

So last night I had one of the grimmest nightmares of my life, complete with people from my life past and present, as well as a host of people I don't know and may not even exist, but seemed to in the dream. Set in my university house, but in New Zealand, it ended with my losing all the possessions I care about, on my own, feeling the worst I can possibly imagine. A psychiatrist would have a field day with it I would imagine.

A massive topic on conversation at the moment is Derren Brown, with his lottery trick. A couple of my friends reckon the hint he dropped about how he would do it fixing the machine is the way he actually did it. Others think the way he said he actually did it must be true. I, don't really care. I've accepted the bloke is very impressive and I can't hope to ever second guess his illusions. I've been watching a lot of Jonathan Creek recently, if the guy existed, I'm sure he'll be able to tell us how he did it for sure.

Third Year, Birmingham & Wrexham F.C

So, after a pretty sweet week back in Nuneaton catching up with friends and having japes, complete with my Dads 55th and my sisters 18th, I'm back in Birmingham indefinitely. Massive thanks to my parents, who have sent me back with loads of food, much appreciated!

This good news as it is on a number of levels, also means the approach of my third year at University, which I'm looking forward to as much as a greenfly at a ladybird buffet.

At least I've got my epic career with Wrexham to carry on with on Footie manager. In my fourth season top of league two looking for my 2nd promotion in four years having spent no money whatsoever.
Also cant wait to get my loan in and buy an xbox 360, fifa10 from the demo seems ace.

My good friend Banny is also moving back to Bham today, he lives around the corner and we have a cheeky jam planned, looking forward to banging the skins and listening to him shred!

I like putting photos in, so here is Martin Hanson, one of my star players with Wrexham, picked up from Liverpool on a free. Mmm yeah, thats some good bargain buying.

Pub Quizzes & Basshunter

I don't know what you're meant to do with this blogging lark in terms of do I say who I am, how old I am (The title gives that away) etc?

I have a lot of thoughts so maybe this is a good idea?..Or maybe I'll never do another post after this, time will tell...

So yeah, was down a local pub tonight with four chums doing a pub quiz for a laugh and it was. But a few things struck me...
Firstly, we scored 30 out of 60 (with a little help from the couple next to us), not bad for a group of twenty year olds lacking in life experience and historical knowledge due to not having been alive that long. We were however surrounded by teams of pensioners throwing us filthy looks every time we laughed or spoke to each other while the quiz was going on (and I mean between the rounds themselves)

The quizmaster was a bloke who runs several quizzes and different pubs in my fair town and his questions are in my opinion to a large extent ridiculous.

The most modern song in the music round was from 1998, with the vast majority of questions being from the 60's, which you could argue caters for a large extent of the people taking part, but I think, and I hope I will when im old (touchwood I get there) that they should spread from the 50's (the start of 'popular music' right to the present day!
The geography round concerned small African countries kings in the 70's amongst other things.

I guess it was for hardcore quizzers, but I found it a bit too serious, I know for a fact theres several teams of quizzers who go around my town to different pubs running quizzes on different nights to play, which is fair enough, but they take it very serious. All for a winning prize of 18 quid!...between 8, thats 2.25 each roughly?

fantastic!!

On a lighter note, I'm listening to Basshunters album and enjoying it, and I don't care! He's below, 'So slimy, so greasy, such a Ken doll' you could say. I think hes a good lad, but each to our own opinion!
Turner.
